Vlad was one of the quirkiest, most brilliant, and fiercely loyal people we ever knew. He loved the outdoors, felt that dogs were vastly superior to most humans, had a passion for all things African, and of course, us. He loved us with every fibre of his being.
Let’s be together on Nov 10th, 2024 (RSVP below)
Come out and celebrate his life. We’re going to spend the afternoon in true Vlad style.
• PART 1: At 2pm (rain or shine), we will be convening at the base of the Eastern Spit of Port Weller Harbour (click for location details) for a family and friends walk (until about 3:30). This park has special meaning for the Wojcik family, as they have been coming here together to walk with their dogs since immigrating to Canada in 1981. This was one of Vlad’s favourite places.
• PART 2: After the walk, we’ll be refueling with some warm food at Chang Noi’s Thai Restaurant (click for location details), one of Vlad’s favourite restaurants. Come prepared to swap stories, reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and take a moment to appreciate the preciousness of life. Drop in anytime between 5pm and 8pm. This will be a casual, buffet-style environment with few, if any, formalities.
Suggested attire: Plaid. After all, when wasn’t Vlad wearing plaid? Oh, maybe you don’t have plaid? Don’t be sad. Vlad would only want you to be glad. Come however you’d like to be clad.
You’re great just as you are.
(The walk is on flat ground. Running/hiking shoes will serve you well. And wear layers if it’s chilly that day.)
Please RSVP by Nov 6th:
If you have any questions, please email his daughter, Amina, at amina@stillmotion.ca.
PS: In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to any dog-related charity. Vlad had a soft spot for Rhodesian Ridgebacks and there’s a great rescue group dedicated to them here. Doggos rule.
